As summer dwindles , Alex Donaldson, a Texas based videographer, took the opportunity to showcase the beauty of summertime Chicago. When asked why he pursued this project, he replied "I think Chicago as a whole gets a bad rep with outsiders. I wanted to use my short stay there to try and show that despite the bad stuff you see on the news, there's also an awesome city with tons of culture, beaches, and an unmatched cityscape with some of the best architecture in the world." Hearing this type of perspective is extremely gratifying, because there is such a negative stigma about Chicago and what the city has to offer. The entire experience was a thrill ride for Alex as he had to move quickly to capture certain shots. "Believe it or not this video was only shot over the course of 3 days, with one battery for my drone. I would go to a spot like North Ave Beach, try my best to get every shot I could, go back to Lakeview and charge the drone and hit the city again. It was really run and gun but I tried to pack as much in 3 days as I possibly could." Check out the footage below and be sure to share!
